Carmet Tug Company are looking for an Assistant Marine Manager to assist the Operations Director with the management, implementation, and improvement of Company Management Systems.
This opportunity is open to candidates, either with previous experience in a similar role, or seafarer looking to start a shoreside management career. Depending on experience Carmet will support the right candidate with any training required to develop in the role.
Role Responsibilities
Responsible for assisting the overall day-to-day management of Company vessels.
Assisting with project coordination including the preparation of all relevant documentation.
Maintaining and improving Company Safety Management Systems.
Ensuring all Company vessels are operated safely in compliance with local and international regulatory and statutory maritime frameworks such as but not limited to: ISM and ISPS.
Assisting the Engineering Superintendent with all vessels’ planned maintenance and defect records.
Identifying training needs and assessing competencies for all personnel and crews.
Ensuring continuous improvement of customer service and quality standards.
Maintaining good working relationships with stakeholders, including customers, agents, suppliers, and Port Authority representatives.
Requirements
Previous experience working in a similar environment, preferably offshore on vessels with ISM Safety Management Systems, or Port operations.
Background knowledge of tug and workboat activities.
Effective communicator who leads with a supportive, proactive attitude.
