Working in partnership with Mersey Docks and Harbour Company (Peel Ports), Carmet have been operating the Lock Gates at Eastham, the entrance to the Manchester Ship Canal, since 1994. The lock is operational and staffed 4 hours either side of high water, and the safe operation of the lock is an integral part of the management of the Canal, being the only entrance of the 36-mile-long waterway.
As part of the Lock Gate service, Carmet also ensure the safe berthing of the vessels mooring in the lock. Our operatives are well trained and vastly experienced to conduct Line Handing services provided to a constantly busy port.
Having over 30 years of experience Line Handling, Carmet can provide trained operatives both shoreside, and at terminals using mooring dolphins, to ensure the safe berthing and transit of vessels in and out of Ports.
